No opening date has been announced. March 2026 coverage of The Switchyard said tenants are expected “by year-end.” As of late August 2026, Shake Shack is still on the town’s Coming Soon list with no date. We update this page when that changes.
Where it is going
The northeast corner of Ellsworth Loop and Ocotillo, inside The Switchyard, downtown Queen Creek’s $120 million mixed-use district. Here is our full rundown of the project: the Switchyard guide.
First one in Queen Creek
This is Queen Creek’s first Shake Shack. Until it opens, the closest Shacks are up in the Chandler and Gilbert direction, so this saves a freeway trip for a burger, crinkle fries, and a shake.
What is opening around it
Shake Shack was announced the same day as Snooze. Since then The Switchyard has added Postino Wine Cafe (aiming for this fall), Bamboo Sushi making its Arizona debut, and Room & Porch.
The honest read on timing
The project timeline has slipped once already, from mid-2026 to late 2026. National tenants like Shake Shack also tend to announce their dates late and open fast once the shell is ready. When a date shows up, it will be here.
